Job Description

The Chief Operating Officer is responsible for the performance of the company as dictated by the overall strategy agreed by the board. Incumbent will be responsible for managing all aspects of the company including revenue generation, editorial and general management of the business. Incumbent reports to the CEO/ Editor-in-Chief.

Vacancy for a Credit Control Officer

To this end, recruitment of professionals into some of its key functional areas especially those critical to the effective transformation of the group is underway. 

Job Title: Credit Officer

Job Description

The successful candidate shall be responsible for the following functions:

•   Debt collection for a portfolio of corporate clients

•   Weekly reporting on debt collections

•   Work with accounts and billings team in response to clients’ request

•   Keep a daily check on client’s debt profile so that they do not overshoot their credit limit

•   Handling, verifying and responding to reports/complaints from Media Monitoring Agents and clients

•   Achieve personal and team collections goal from month to month

•   Review overdue reports and recover all outstanding invoices

•   Be familiar with credit management policies and rules

•   Be responsible for crediting, evaluation and approval

•   Profound in the operations of credit business

•   Work as part of a team in preparations and analysis of debtors

•   Chase high volume of corporate debtors

•   Responsible for timely collection of overdue payments

•   Review and arrange repayment dates and terms with clients

•   Liaise with legal unit in cases where payments could not be arranged

•   Query resolving and invoice serving on a daily basis

•   Conduct market research and market analysis on buyer profiles and market preferences

•   Building and maintaining existing relationship with clients

Qualification/ Requirements

•   Proof of excellent writing skill

•   Creative communication skill

•   Excellent inter-personal relationship skill

•   Demonstrable public relations skill

•   Good knowledge of Nigerian and International media environment

•   First degree, second class upper division in MANAGEMENT  SCIENCES with preference for FINANCE. 

•   A minimum of 5 (Five) years experience in finance and business journalism in a reputable media organisation is necessary;

•   A first degree, second class upper division in Mass Communication with added advantage of a post graduate degree preferably an MBA or MSc in Economics or Finance. In addition, a minimum of 5 (Five) years experience in financial and business journalism in a reputable media organisation is necessary;
